New car brands integrated into cloud vehicle tracking software ex:tracked
The vehicle tracking software ex:tracked has been expanded to include new vehicle brands: Volkswagen (VW), Škoda, Cupra, SEAT and Tesla vehicles can now be tracked using the vehicle tracking cloud software ex:tracked. This is another milestone for the company in using connected car data to optimise vehicle location, fraud prevention and fleet management.

How does ex:tracked work?
ex:tracked uses advanced connected car technology to locate vehicles in real time. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is used to digitally retrieve vehicle data across all manufacturers - including mileage, fuel level, battery charge status, diagnostic data and much more. In addition to vehicle location, the system offers significant added value for a variety of applications, in particular vehicle theft fraud prevention and fleet management.
More brands, more added value
The integration of additional vehicle brands enables EXCON to locate even more stolen vehicle models in compliance with data protection regulations and to contain cases of fraud. With intelligently networked processes and follow-up services such as Europe-wide repossession of vehicles, recuperation and recovery of vehicles as well as digital damage reports, EXCON creates comprehensive added value not only for insurers, authorities and fleet providers, but also for financiers and leasing companies.
80% of the most stolen brands in absolute terms can be traced
According to the German Insurance Association (GDV), a total of 14,585 cars with fully comprehensive insurance were stolen in 2023, an increase of almost 20 per cent on the previous year. This resulted in losses of more than 310 million euros. On average, a car theft costs insurers 21,400 euros. The good news is that with the help of ex:tracked, companies are already tracking 80% of the most stolen vehicle models in terms of theft rate and 80% of the most stolen vehicle brands in absolute terms. The successful localisation and recovery of just one stolen vehicle refinances the use of the software and enables the company to locate further vehicles with the costs saved. With a success rate of around 24%, insurers are saving millions by using ex:tracked.
"By expanding the number of vehicle brands, we are creating even greater reach and giving our customers a decisive competitive advantage," says Sebastian Lammel, Head of Digital Solutions and Head of Communications.
"The combination of real-time positioning, precise vehicle data and seamless integration into existing systems ensures a significant increase in efficiency and a significant reduction in costs for the companies concerned."
EXCON remains a pioneer in the use of connected car data and continues to drive the development of intelligent solutions in this application area for user groups in the B2B and B2G sectors.
